VICE-GOV. DANIEL FERNANDO
The big news if you still don’t know is that Philip Salvador who wanted to run Vice-Governor for the province of Bulacan against the incumbent colleague of his in showbiz  Vice-Governor Daniel Fernando is totally out in the running having been disqualified by the local court for reasons of inadequate residency, etc.
The issue is now moot and academic and Vice-Governor  Daniel Fernando still holds his fort strongly whoever would challenge him this coming local election in 2013.
So it is business as usual with Vice-Gov. Daniel Fernando at the Kapitolyo of Bulacan, Bulacan.
On |Tuesdays which is his people day,Vice-Gov. Fernando works his ass off to tend to the various needs of his constituents even way past the Cinderella hour.
This is also the time he relates with the local and mainstream media.
Being  one  of those who saw actor Daniel Fernando grew up in the milieu of showbiz, I thought of sharing a cultural blueprint with him in the way of cultural, environmental, educational empowerment total theater/ production workshop which would tap sectoral representatives from his constituency to include the Barangay level from the youth, professionals, adults and leaders to the NGOs and the POs as well.
The main objective of the workshop is to come out with a story material on the heroes of Bulacan with the workshoppers themselves as actors and others in the production staff to be showcased either as a stage play and/or digital film.

The question of Gov. Fernando is how this workshop will generate income for his constituency?
          Easy does it.
Given the seed funding for the workshop, the first stage is to audition potential participants to maximize the use of human resource/talented participants as workshop scholars.
So participants go through the rigorous process of coming out with a workshop showcase which will put to practice their acquired talents in theater and/or production management including marketing their output, be it theater  production or digital film which they themselves will produce and shoot.
In the case of both the theatrical and digital production, the venture will be on cooperative and industrial partnership basis.
The training in marketing the product will be an introduction to the challenge of selling the output for commercial screening of the digital film nationwide or even for a particular audiences given that the SM Cinema Theater Circuits in their most recent memorandum are now open for at least  two commercial screenings  from one in the afternoon up  for independent film projects without being subjected to the “first day, last day” mandate for  films that don’t make good at the box-office.
Moreover, the various associations of Bulakenyos from abroad can be tapped as possible network overseas to market the independent film among the Filipino communities abroad with the end view to raise funds for charity back home and/or to continue in the production of indie films to generate more income and to make the initiative highly sustainable.
This is one way of re-affirming the potentials of the constituency at hand as agents in the direction of social, economic and cultural initiatives.
