A day earlier (that was Thursday)  ang cadaver ni Dolphy ay pinag-stop over sa nabanggit na theater house to pay last respect to the Comedy King bago siya dalhin sa Heritage Park kung saan doon siya ibuburol.

The last time ang ginawa ko was “Anak” and then nasundan yun ng “In My Life.”  So bale dream movie ko talaga ito and it took years  to realize it. Kaya nung sinabi ni Direk Chito na meron na siyang material, ay go talaga ako agad so that’s it ito na,” say pa ng Star For All Seasons.

Napakasaya ng nasbing press brief.  Sobrang personal at  naka-relate si Ate Vi at mga kasamahan nito sa iba’t-ibang tanong ng mga reporters as moderated by Doyenne of Entertainement Writing and ex-prexy of PMPC (Phil. Movie Press Club) Ethel Ramos (take your bow, Manay Ethel!) in tandem with breezy Erik John Salut.

The following day Friday the 13 nakahabol sa tabloid ang glowing reportage on Vilma Santos’s grandest movie of the year  kasama pa ang live streaming straight from bloggers na andun din sa Dolphy Theater para i-cover ang press brief ni Ate Vi and company.

Sinundan naman ito ni katotong Julie Bonifacio who had a clearer version of the scandal.

Special mention ni Chuck ang King Of Talk Boy Abunda na naroon mismo sa pandemonium na ‘yun na ayon pa ni Chuck na-floored ‘ata si Kuya Boy at never itong nag-comment, medyo trying his best to maintain his composure and all pero alam niyang Boy was somehow affected by the incident. Hindi niya alam kung na-shock wave si Kuya Boy o di kaya pinoproseso lamang niya ang pangyayari para sa “The Buzz”  na as ever things like this  The King of Talk has always the last word ‘ika nga. Abangan!

Ang King of Talk ay palaging may challenge sa mga movie reporters when it comes to reporting events, scandalous or not. Ayon sa kanya kailangang “mag-step up” (his word) ang mga reporters to make stories interesting and not to rely mainly on press releases and press conferences.

Tama. Ganun nga ang reportage ng “The Buzz” through the years. Watching it live on ringside view like what we usually do on Sundays, or onscreen makes you feel this could be the trade secret of the unparalleled, unprecedented and multi-awarded (to include an Asian Award for Journalism for  Boy)   showbiz-oriented talk show in town.

One glaring oversight (conscious or not)  sa self-reportage ni Chito Alcid sa Facebook about Annabelle’s attack on him ay never niyang na-mention na nung siya ay nasukol na ni Annabelle ay  nahandusay siya sa sahig dahil ayon sa nakasaksi na-out of balance nga raw siya. Sa katabaan niyang yun, he fell flat on the floor.

Was Chito trying to sanitize his own reportage?
